The paintings of Edouard Chaullet are characterised by the bold
treatment of the subject which often seems to be aslant. This is deliberate. The overall
effect is harmonious of course. The range of colours also helps to give the picture
strength. The play of lines and curves, the light and shade, create a daringly executed
picture. His treatment of volume which sometimes appears feattened benefits from this
play.
The cubist movement, of which Edouard Chaullet is a follower was the forerunner of an
authentic revolution in art,
led by Picasso and Braque.
His works are to be seen in numerous Galleries in France and abroad where they are much
appreciated.
