If we wish to describe exactly Jacques Dollé, we must say that he is a
"constructor", truly a builder. In reality, his canvasses are the result of
perfectly orchestrated and solid plans. This statement is backed up by his genius as
regards the sense of shape, of movement, and his skilful treatment of form.
The logical construction of his pictures, combined with his concern for the main subject
borders on the abstract.
Jacques Dollé likes to see nature alive, he knows how to make it vibrant : Maurice
Genevoix also shares this outlook, and has worked jointly on the illustration of some of
his works.
Jacques Dollé paints the "Sologne" and its lakes, and the Valley of the Loire.
He has received painting commissions: from the State, the Tapestries of
"Aubusson", for the Mobilier National, Mosaics murals...
He is President of the celebrated group of "Compagnons de la Loire", a member of
the juries of the big "Salons Parisiens", an Officier of the "Palmes
Académiques", and many times awarded the "Médaille d'Or".
