Yolande STRENTZ
(1946-1995)

She was brought up with a strong cultural background as the daughter of an artist. She was accepted to teach, then she was accepted by Henri Goetz and later became a pupil of Pierre Jérome. Her good masters - one figurative, the other "Premier Prix de Rome" were extremely complementary and taught the "Great Laws of Painting": "on a canvas, one must not be a slave to reality, but perceive a new world where mass, shape and colours are balanced".
Yolande Strentz "to create, is to build other more solid realities,
in an enlarged space where light controls the composition at all types."
Yolande Strentz exhibited from 1966 onwards at the "Salon of Indépendants".
She stood out among the prize-winners at Poitiers, Versailles, Nice, Deauville and Allancourt,
and gave us paintings of exceptional strength.
This Great Artist departed at an early age in October 1995.
