Madeleine FLASCHNER
(born in 1933 at Paris, daughter of Alexandre Flaschner)

She started painting in 1950 at the studio of Edouard Goerg at the "Grande Chaumière".
She chose to study "Beaux-Arts" with Narbonne for painting and with Goerg for engraving.
In 1956, she helped to form the group Pointe and Burin. During this time she did many sketches of circus life
behind the scenes at the Médrano Circus.
From 1957 to 1987, she had a number of sales and exhibitions in Paris which were crowned with success.
In 1988 she was nominated for the society of the "Salon d'Automne", winning the "Médaille d'Or aux Artistes Français" and receiving the Institutes Chassériau Prize.
In 1993 she became a member of the commitee of the Society of the National des "Beaux-Arts.
She took part in an exhibition of the "Ecole de Paris" in November 1994 at the Colette Dubois Gallery.
Her painting has great strength . The tendancy towards impressionism is a pleasure to see. She paints realist nudes, still life, and circus subjects (clowns, dancers, acrobats, etc.) using a lively and contrasting palette.
