At the age of sixteen she started an apprenticeship with the ceramic
painters Dage and Poncelet.
Working with fire gave her the feel for paint, together with strong brush strokes . Since
1939, she enrolled with the "Ecole du Louvre", then to the
"Beaux-Arts". At the same time, she often frequented the studios of : Othon
Friez (One of the most sensitive members of the "Fauves") encouraged her strong
and impetuous nature, with him she learned
logical composition , gentle tones, and strong forms.
Mac Avoy made her work on the "Grands rythmes de la composition". Henri Goetz
taught her a free style. Pierre Jerome demanded discipline, and kept her in the tradition
of the earlier great painters.
Alice Strentz exhibits in the "Salon des Indépendants". She has been awarded
First Prizes in the
"Ville de Versailles, Poitiers, La Rochelle, Deauville".
